El Jardin from Honduras, is a distinctive variety with intense aromas of cherries, grapes, milk chocolate and rum. Grown at altitudes between 1400 and 1650 meters above sea level in the Montecillos region of La Paz, this coffee reflects the Mario Samuel Mejia Rodriguez family's passion and commitment to high quality coffee production.
El Jardin Farm, founded in 1981 and handed down from generation to generation, is located in a mountainous area covered by dense jungle, called "the place of the stone" by the native Lenca inhabitants. This location offers ideal conditions for growing coffee, and farmers strive to constantly improve the quality and sustainability of production.
The natural processing process emphasizes the natural characteristics of the coffee. The berries, hand-selected and naturally fermented for 3-4 weeks, are carefully dried on special "African" beds. This meticulous method ensures the full development of the coffee's unique flavors and taste profile.
With a constant concern for the environment, the Mejia Rodriguez family applies sustainable agricultural practices and uses organic products and chemical fertilizers to improve the quality of the soil and crops. In addition, El Jardin Farm implements experimental projects for water conservation and soil protection, contributing to more sustainable agriculture.
